Proposed amendment to SOP No 25
Simon O’Connor, in Committee, to move the following amendment:
Part 4, clause 192
In clause 192, replace subclause (3) (page 128) with:

In subsection (1), institution for the treatment of alcoholism or drug addiction means an institution certified under the Alcoholism and Drug Addiction Act 1966 (the 1966 Act) (not being a psychiatric security institution within the meaning of the Mental Health (Compulsory Assessment and Treatment) Act 1992) or any institution that fulfils a similar purpose to an institution certified under the 1966 Act.
Explanatory note
This Supplementary Order Paper amends SOP No 25 amending the Social Security Legislation Rewrite Bill. It amends clause 192 to restore the definition of a treatment institution as defined by the Alcoholism and Drug Addiction Act 1966.
