Proposed amendment
Simeon Brown, in Committee, to move the following amendment:
Clause 5
In clause 5, in new section 55D, after paragraph (c) (page 3, after line 28), insert:
(ca)
state that parliamentary members of the party agreeing under paragraph (c) have done so by way of secret ballot; and
Explanatory note
This Supplementary Order Paper amends the Electoral (Integrity) Amendment Bill. It amends clause 5 to ensure that a party leader has required parliamentary members of the party to vote on an MP’s expulsion by way of secret ballot.
