Smoke-free Environments (Prohibiting Smoking in Motor Vehicles Carrying Children) Amendment Bill
Proposed amendment
Hon Michael Woodhouse, in Committee, to move the following amendment:
Clause 9
In clause 9, new section 20D, replace subsection (2) (page 3, lines 23 to 26) with:
(2)
However, a person may smoke in a motor vehicle if the person is the only occupant of the motor vehicle who is under the age of 18 years.
Explanatory note
This Supplementary Order Paper amends new section 20D in clause 9 of the Smoke-free Environments (Prohibiting Smoking in Motor Vehicles Carrying Children) Amendment Bill to delete the exemption for smoking in a motor vehicle that is in use as a dwelling.
