Proposed amendments
David Seymour, in Committee, to move the following amendments:
Clause 10
In clause 10, replace “both”
(page 5, line 36) with “all”

After clause 10(a) (page 6, after line 2), insert:
(ab)
the order is urgently needed and may apply only for a period of 48 hours:
Clause 14
In clause 14(3), replace “the Minister or Director-General (as the case may be)”
(page 8, line 34) with “the Director-General”

In clause 14(4), replace “1 month”
(page 9, line 3) with “48 hours”
.
In clause 14(4), replace “date”
(page 9, line 4) with “time”
.
Clause 15
Delete clause 15(2) (page 9, lines 10—11).
Explanatory note
This Supplementary Order Paper makes various amendments to the Bill to restrict section 11 orders made by the Director-General to 48 hours and to prevent the Minister making section 11 orders without complying with the 48-hour notice provision.
