Proposed amendments
David Seymour, in Committee, to move the following amendments:
Clause 4
In the heading to clause 4 (page 2 line 1), replace “New section 19A inserted (Temporary reduction determinations (COVID-19))”
with “New sections 19A and 19B inserted”
In clause 4, after new section 19A (page 3, after line 2), insert:
19B Temporary reduction determination (COVID-19) for members of Parliament

Despite anything to the contrary in section 19A, the Authority must make a determination under section 19A reducing the remuneration to be paid to members of Parliament by 20%.
(2)
The Authority must make the determination required by subsection (1) as soon as practicable.
Explanatory note
This Supplementary Order Paper amends the Bill to make it mandatory for a temporary reduction determination to be made in respect of members of Parliament and for the remuneration of members of Parliament to be reduced by 20% by that determination.
