Proposed amendment

Chlöe Swarbrick, in Committee, to move the following amendment:

Clause 9 of Schedule 6

In clause 9 of Schedule 6, new section 245F(2), definition of affected period, paragraph (a), replace “28 September 2021” (page 36, line 18) with “18 August 2021”.

Explanatory note

This Supplementary Order Paper changes amendments in the COVID-19 Response (Management Measures) Legislation Bill to the Property Law Act 2007 that allow tenants and landlords to come to agreements to adjust rents due under their leases. The amendments would apply to leases in operation from 18 August 2021 (the start of the Delta outbreak), rather than 28 September 2021 as proposed in the bill.
