Proposed amendment
Karen Chhour, in Committee, to move the following amendment:
Clause 94
In clause 94, after subclause (3) (page 44, after line 14), insert:

Before making a recommendation to the Minister under section 93(1), a nominations panel must consult with, and have regard to the views of, the Oranga Tamariki Youth Advisory Group or, if the Oranga Tamariki Youth Advisory Group is disestablished, an equivalent group of young people.
Explanatory note
This Supplementary Order Paper amends the Oversight of Oranga Tamariki System and Children and Young People’s Commission Bill to require the nominations panel to consult with young people before making a recommendation to the Minister regarding the appointment of board members.
