Proposed amendments
Karen Chhour, in Committee, to move the following amendments:
Clause 93
In clause 93, delete subclause (2) (page 43, lines 34 and 35).
Clause 94
In clause 94(1), replace “assessing candidates”
(page 44, line 3) with “receiving candidate applications, assessing candidates,”
.
In clause 94, after subclause (1) (page 44, after line 5), insert:
(1A)
The nominations panel must, at least 2 months before assessing candidates and making recommendations under subsection (1), publicly notify that it is receiving applications from any individual interested in being considered as a candidate.
In clause 94, delete subclause (2) (page 44, lines 6 to 8).
Clause 117
In clause 117(1), delete—
(a)
the cross-heading above paragraph (a) (page 55, line 8); and
(b)
paragraph (a) (page 55, lines 9 and 10).
Schedule 2
In Schedule 2, clause 2, replace subclause (3) (page 58, lines 27 to 31) with:

This clause is subject to clause 3.
Explanatory note
This Supplementary Order Paper amends the Oversight of Oranga Tamariki System and Children and Young People’s Commission Bill. It would enable a public application process for the Children and Young People’s Commission, ensuring that those wanting to advocate for children in the context of the Commission would have opportunity to be considered for the board.
