Accident Compensation (Maternal Birth Injury and Other Matters) Amendment Bill

Proposed amendment

Jan Logie, in Committee, to move the following amendment:

Clause 6

After clause 6(2) (page 3, after line 28), insert:

After section 25(3), insert:

(4)

This Act applies to an accident of the kind described in subsection (1)(f) whether the accident occurred before or after the commencement of that paragraph.

Explanatory note

This Supplementary Order Paper amends the Accident Compensation (Maternal Birth Injury and Other Matters) Amendment Bill. The effect of the amendment is that maternal birth injuries are covered under the Accident Compensation Act 2001 even if they occurred before the commencement of the provision that adds maternal birth injuries to that Act.
