Proposed amendment

Jan Logie, in Committee, to move the following amendment:

Clause 10

Replace clause 10 (page 4, lines 18 to 22) with:

10 Section 119 repealed (Disentitlement for wilfully self-inflicted personal injuries and suicide)

Repeal section 119.

Explanatory note

This Supplementary Order Paper amends the Accident Compensation (Maternal Birth Injury and Other Matters) Amendment Bill. The amendment repeals section 119 of the Accident Compensation Act 2001. Section 119 has the effect of limiting the entitlements of people who suffer personal injury or death by inflicting the injury or death on themselves.
