Proposed amendment

Chris Baillie, in Committee, to move the following amendment:

Clause 92D

In clause 92D(a), replace “Māori employees” (page 97, lines 17 and 18) with “employees who have identified themselves as Māori”.

Explanatory note

This Supplementary Order Paper amends the Fair Pay Agreements Bill. Most companies do not ask for or hold information relating to the ethnicity of employees, and determining who will be the workplace representatives of a particular ethnic group may be fraught.
