Proposed amendments

Simon Watts, in Committee, to move the following amendments:

Clause 4

In clause 4, delete cross-heading (Page 13, line 18).

In clause 4, delete subclause (4) (Page 13, lines 19 to 21).

Explanatory note

This Supplementary Order Paper amends the Water Services Entities Bill to remove the clause that expands Te Mana o te Wai statements to include coastal and geothermal waters. This Supplementary Order Paper would restore the original scope of Te Mana o te Wai statements.

The inclusion of coastal and geothermal waters for the purposes of Te Mana o te Wai is a significant departure from the stated purpose of the bill.
