Proposed amendments
Simon Watts, in Committee, to move the following amendments:
Clause 140
In the heading to clause 140, delete “Mana whenua may provide”
(page 75, line 35).
Replace clause 140(2) (page 76, lines 6 to 9) with:
(2)
A Te Mana o te Wai statement for water services may—
(a)
be provided by an individual iwi or hapū, a group of iwi or hapū, a natural person, or by a group of natural persons:
(b)
relate to 1 water body, or to multiple water bodies.
In clause 140(3), after “Mana whenua”
(page 76, line 10), insert “or natural persons”
.
Explanatory note
This Supplementary Order Paper amends clause 140 to enable a natural person, or a group of natural persons, to submit a Te Mana o Wai statement, recognising that mana whenua are one of many groups who might have an interest in water quality.
