Proposed amendment

Simon Watts, in Committee, to move the following amendment:

Clause 166(1)

Delete clause 166(1)(a) (page 92, lines 28 to 31).

Explanatory note

This Supplementary Order Paper amends clause 166. Under clause 166(1)(a), territorial authorities have none of the usual rights and responsibilities associated with ownership of their water assets including right, title, interest, security debt, or liability. This amendment would remove this, as territorial authorities are the owners of these assets and are entitled to all the usual rights of that ownership.
