Construction Contracts (Retention Money) Amendment Bill

Proposed amendment to SOP 278

Tim van de Molen, in Committee, to move the following amendment:

Clause 7

After clause 7(1) (page 8), insert:

(1A)

After section 18FB(3), insert:

(3A)

Where there are multiple construction contracts for a single construction work, any 2 or more of the party As or party Bs who are a party to one or more of these contracts can agree to issue a single complying instrument for the whole of the work covered by their collective contracts.

Explanatory note

This Supplementary Order Paper amends SOP 278 to enable multiple parties to construction contracts to operate under a single complying instrument.
