Proposed amendment

Dr Lawrence Xu-Nan, in Committee, to move the following amendment:

Clause 7

In clause 7(2), replace “and” (page 8, line 4) with “or”.

Explanatory note

This Amendment Paper amends the Education and Training Amendment Bill. Using “and” implies a network will be established and managed that encompasses both State schools and charter schools. This bill, however, clearly sets out different criteria for establishing and managing charter schools from those for State schools. Therefore, “or” would be more accurate.
