Proposed amendments
Ricardo Menéndez March, in Committee, to move the following amendments:
Clause 8
In clause 8, new section 18AA, after subsection (6) (page 8, after line 38), insert:

To avoid doubt, a landlord must not require a pet bond for a tenant who is keeping a disability assist dog.
Clause 16
In clause 16, insert as new section 42H (page 11, after line 6):
42H Application of pet provisions to disability assist dogs
Sections 42C to 42G do not apply to a tenant who is keeping a disability assist dog.
Explanatory note
This Amendment Paper amends the Residential Tenancies Amendment Bill. This amendment clarifies that, in addition to disability assist dogs being excluded from the definition of pet in this bill, a tenant may keep a disability assist dog despite any provision in this bill.
