Proposed amendments

Hon Julie Anne Genter, in Committee, to move the following amendments:

Clause 13

Replace clause 13(2) (page 4, lines 26 and 27) with:

In the Schedule, Part 1, table, replace the item relating to RUC vehicle type 1 with:

1	RUC weight of not more than 2 000 kg	Powered vehicle with 2 axles (except type 12, 2, or 299 RUC vehicles)
	RUC weight of more than 2 000 kg but not more than 3 500 kg
	RUC weight of more than 3 500 kg but not more than 6 000 kg
	RUC weight of more than 6 000 kg but not more than 9 000 kg
	RUC weight of more than 9 000 kg

Clause 15

Replace clause 15(1) (page 5, lines 6 and 7) with:

In Schedule 1, table, replace the item relating to RUC vehicle type 1 with:

Explanatory note

This Amendment Paper amends the Road User Charges (Light Electric RUC Vehicles) Amendment Bill. It would create a new weight threshold of 2 000 kg, to recognise the difference in weight and consequent damage to roads done by light vehicles and PHEVs, SUVs, and utes.
