Sale and Supply of Alcohol (Winery Cellar Door Tasting) Amendment Bill
Proposed amendments
Hon Dr Duncan Webb, in Committee, to move the following amendments:
Clause 1
In clause 1, delete “Winery”
(page 2, line 3).
Clause 4
In clause 4, insert before the new definition of winery cellar door (page 2, before line 22):
brewery cellar door means retail premises operated by a person for the purposes of selling beer (as defined in section 58(3)) provided that—
(a)
the beer is made by or on behalf of that person—
(i)
on those retail premises; or
(ii)
from hops or cereals harvested from land occupied by that person; and
(b)
the retail premises are located no more than 10 km from where the main ingredients were grown or the beer was manufactured
meadery cellar door means retail premises operated by a person for the purposes of selling mead (as defined in section 58(3)) provided that—
(a)
the mead is made by or on behalf of that person—
(i)
on those retail premises; or
(ii)
from honey extracted from hives on land occupied by that person; and
(b)
the retail premises are located no more than 10 km from where the main ingredients were extracted or the mead was manufactured
Clause 6
In clause 6, new subsection (2) of section 17, replace “one or both”
(page 3, line 2) with “any”

In clause 6, new subsection (2)(b)(iii) of section 17, replace “.”
(page 3, line 9) with “:”

In clause 6, after new subsection (2)(b) of section 17 (page 3, after line 9), insert:
(c)
sell alcohol, as a sample, for consumption on the premises, if—
(i)
the premises are a brewery cellar door; and
(ii)
the alcohol sample is beer (as defined in section 58(3)); and
(iii)
each sample contains no more than 115 millilitres of beer:
(d)
sell alcohol, as a sample, for consumption on the premises, if—
(i)
the premises are a meadery cellar door; and
(ii)
the alcohol sample is mead (as defined in section 58(3)); and
(iii)
each sample contains no more than 40 millilitres of mead:

In clause 7, new paragraph (g) of section 32(1), after “winery cellar door”
