Immigration (Mass Arrivals) Amendment Bill

Proposed amendment

Ricardo Menéndez March, in Committee, to move the following amendment:

New clause 8A

After clause 8 (page 3, line 21), insert:

8A Section 317A amended (Application for mass arrival warrant)

Replace section 317A(5) with:

(5)

Nothing in this section permits an immigration officer to include in an application for a mass arrival warrant—

(a)

a person who is a member of the mass arrival group who is under 18 years of age:

(b)

a parent or guardian of a person in paragraph (a).

Explanatory note

This Amendment Paper amends the Immigration (Mass Arrivals) Amendment Bill.
