Proposed amendments
Lan Pham, in Committee, to move the following amendments:
Clause 11
In clause 11(1), after paragraph (i) (page 15, after line 36), insert:
(ia)
information regarding climate change adaptation and mitigation as they relate to the delivery of water services:
In clause 11, after subclause (1A) (page 16, after line 30), insert:
(1B)
A water services delivery plan may include information that identifies investment requirements—
(a)
for water services infrastructure; or
(b)
to support future housing growth and urban development.
Clause 13
In clause 13, replace subclause (1) (page 18, lines 4 to 11) with:
(1)
A water services delivery plan must cover a period of not less than 30 consecutive financial years, starting with the 2024–25 financial year.
Explanatory note
This Amendment Paper amends the Local Government (Water Services Preliminary Arrangements) Bill. This amendment requires water service delivery plans to include information regarding climate change impacts, and requires water services delivery plans to cover at least 30 years to ensure long-term foresight regarding water delivery.
