Proposed amendment
Darleen Tana, in Committee, to move the following amendment:
Clause 4
In clause 4, replace new section 165ZFHJ (page 6, lines 16 to 23), with:
165ZFHJ Purpose of review
(1)
The purpose of undertaking a review is to ensure—
(a)
the sustainable management of the natural and physical resources associated with the marine farm; and
(b)
that the Resource Management (National Environmental Standards for Marine Aquaculture) Regulations 2020 are complied with to the greatest extent possible.
(2)
The review must be undertaken in a way that—
(a)
is consistent with Part 2; and
(b)
does not prevent the permit holder from carrying out the aquaculture activity to which the coastal permit relates.
Explanatory note
This Amendment Paper amends the Resource Management (Extended Duration of Coastal Permits for Marine Farms) Amendment Bill.
