Proposed amendments
Dr Lawrence Xu-Nan, in Committee, to move the following amendments:
Clause 40
In clause 40, new section 212K(1), after paragraph (a) (page 20, after line 9), insert:
(aa)
if a student currently enrolled at the State school does not wish to attend the charter school, the Secretary must be satisfied arrangements have been made for the student to be enrolled at another registered school:
In clause 40, new section 212L(5)(o), after “conversion date for the school”
(page 21, line 36), insert “, along with provision for that date to change if any conditions in section 212K(1) are not met”
.
Explanatory note
This Amendment Paper amends the Education and Training Amendment Bill. This amendment would ensure that any student who does not wish to attend a converted school will not be left in a liminal space with no school to attend.
