Proposed amendments

Dr Lawrence Xu-Nan, in Committee, to move the following amendments:

Clause 40

In clause 40, in the heading to new section 212U, after “Students at” (page 26, line 26), insert “not-for-profit”.

In clause 40, new section 212U(1), after “Students enrolled at a” (page 26, line 28), insert “not-for-profit”.

In clause 40, new section 212U(2), after “Students enrolled at a” (page 26, line 31), insert “not-for-profit”.

In clause 40, new section 212U(3), after “The sponsor of a” (page 26, line 33), insert “not-for-profit”.

Explanatory note

This Amendment Paper amends the Education and Training Amendment Bill. This section should not be used by for-profit charter schools as a means of cost saving. Specifying that this section only applies to not-for-profit charter schools would avoid this scenario.
