Lan Pham, in Committee, to move the following amendment:

Clause 8

Delete clause 8 (page 11, line 28 to page 12, line 28).

Explanatory note

This Amendment Paper amends the Resource Management (Consenting and Other System Changes) Amendment Bill. Regional councils put rules on fishing for the purposes of indigenous biodiversity and sustainable management as per the RMA. The proposed s 32 of the RMA addition strays into that Fisheries Act purpose because it adopts a skewed focus on fishing impacts, as opposed to indigenous biodiversity.
