Proposed amendment

Scott Willis, in Committee, to move the following amendment:

Clause 42

After clause 42, new section 123B(2)(c) (page 29, after line 22), insert:

(d)

a shorter duration enables management of a climate adaptation or natural hazard mitigation.

Explanatory note

This Amendment Paper amends the Resource Management (Consenting and Other System Changes) Amendment Bill to allow consent authorities to specify a shorter consent duration than 35 years if there is a changing environment (for example, natural hazards or managed retreat).
