Proposed amendment
Hūhana Lyndon, in Committee, to move the following amendment:
Clause 42
In clause 42, new section 123B, replace subsection (5) (page 29, lines 31 to 35) with:
(5)
In this section, relevant group means—
(a)
a group who may be or is required to be involved in processes under this Act that relate to planning documents or resource consents by virtue of any Treaty settlement, the Ngā Rohe Moana o Ngā Hapū o Ngāti Porou Act 2019, or the Marine and Coastal Area (Takutai Moana) Act 2011:
(b)
any iwi or hapū that has a private agreement or arrangement with a consent applicant or authority to be involved in processes under this Act that relate to planning documents or resource consents.
Explanatory note
This Amendment Paper amends the Resource Management (Consenting and Other System Changes) Amendment Bill to amend clause 42. This would ensure that a relevant group that can request a shorter consent duration period includes iwi or hapū with non-legislative arrangements.
