Proposed amendment

Lan Pham, in Committee, to move the following amendment:

Clause 64

In clause 64, new section 331AA(2)(c), replace “whether any adverse effects can be avoided, remedied, or mitigated” (page 43, lines 34 and 35) with “how the proposed regulations will ensure any adverse effects are avoided, remedied, or mitigated”.

Explanatory note

This Amendment Paper amends the Resource Management (Consenting and Other System Changes) Amendment Bill. It would strengthen new section 331AA(2)(c) to provide that the Minister must consider how the proposed regulations will ensure any adverse effects are avoided, remedied, or mitigated.
