Proposed amendments
Francisco Hernandez, in Committee, to move the following amendments:
Clause 22
In clause 22, new section 319(1), after “among its members”
(page 13, line 14), insert “, after consultation with its members,”
.
In clause 22, new section 319, replace subsection (3) (page 13, lines 20 and 21) with:
(3)
However, the Minister may not dismiss the chairperson or deputy chairperson without first—
(a)
consulting them about the proposed dismissal; and
(b)
receiving majority approval from the members of the council of a polytechnic about the proposed dismissal.
Schedule 2
In Schedule 2, new Schedule 11A, clause 1AAA(1), after “among its members”
(page 79, line 9), insert “, after consultation with its members,”
.
In Schedule 2, new Schedule 11A, clause 1AAA, replace subclause (3) (page 79, lines 13 and 14) with:
(3)
However, the Minister may not dismiss the chairperson without first—
(a)
consulting the chairperson about the proposed dismissal; and
(b)
receiving majority approval from the members of the council of a polytechnic about the proposed dismissal.
Explanatory note
This Amendment Paper amends the Education and Training (Vocational Education and Training System) Amendment Bill.
