Celia Wade-Brown, in Committee, to move the following amendment:

Clause 4

In clause 4(2), new definition of close of registration, delete “13th” (page 10, line 20).

Explanatory note

This Amendment Paper amends the Electoral Amendment Bill to shift the enrolment deadline to the day before polling day rather than 13 days before election day. This would still reduce the pressure of processing enrolments, without excessively restricting the ability for people to vote.
