Clause 35
In clause 35, paragraph (a) of the new definition of advance voter (page 26, line 14), replace “is qualified to vote at the election” with “is or will be qualified to vote at the date of the election in that district”.
Explanatory note
This Amendment Paper amends the Electoral Amendment Bill to clarify that any person who becomes qualified to vote only part way through the advance voting period, because they have moved and their one-month time frame for living in a new electorate or their 18th birthday falls within the advance voting period, or for any other reason, can vote at any time during the advance voting period.
