Proposed amendments
Arena Williams, in Committee, to move the following amendments:
Clause 45A
In clause 45A, new section 172D, replace “The Minister may” (page 23, line 35) with “The Minister must, before 1 January 2027,”.
In clause 45A, new section 172D(c), replace “.” (page 24, line 5) with “; and”.
In clause 45A, after new section 172D(c) (page 24, after line 5), insert:
(d)
includes environmentally beneficial systems, such as grey water and pumping systems, provided they meet safety and performance standards.
New clause 45B
After clause 45A (page 24, after line 5), insert:
45B New section 172E inserted (Minister may recommend making of subsequent regulations)
After new section 172D, insert:
172E Minister may recommend making of subsequent regulations
(1)
The Minister may recommend the making of subsequent regulations under section 172(1)(fa) at any time after the making of initial regulations under section 172D.
(2)
Subsequent regulations recommended under subsection (1) must meet all the requirements under section 172D.
Explanatory note
This Amendment Paper amends the Building and Construction Sector (Self-certification by Plumbers and Drainlayers) Amendment Bill.
