Proposed amendments
Dr Lawrence Xu-Nan, in Committee, to move the following amendments:
Clause 2
In clause 2(2)(aaa), delete subparagraph (v) (page 5, lines 16 to 18).
In clause 2(2), after paragraph (a) (page 6, after line 11), insert:
(ae)
section 61 comes into force on a single date set by Order in Council, but only for the purpose of giving effect to the item in Part 2 of Schedule 2 relating to the Education (Hostels) Regulations 2005; and
In clause 2(3), after “subsection (2)(a)”
(page 6, line 14), insert “and (ae)”
.
Explanatory note
This Amendment Paper amends the Education and Training (System Reform) Amendment Bill. Considering that the concerns of the Director of Regulation have not been adequately addressed during the select committee stage, it would be advisable to set section 61 as coming into force on a single date set by Order in Council.
