Proposed amendment

Dr Lawrence Xu-Nan, in Committee, to move the following amendment:

Clause 5

Delete clause 5(3) (page 8, lines 21 and 22).

Explanatory note

This Amendment Paper amends the Education and Training (System Reform) Amendment Bill. In order to maintain the independence and professionalism of the teaching profession, it is necessary that the Teaching Council maintains some level of oversight of Initial Teacher Education programmes.
