Proposed amendment

Dr Lawrence Xu-Nan, in Committee, to move the following amendment:

Clause 10: new section 90B

In clause 10, new section 90B(1), replace “may amend a national curriculum statement made under section 90 after” (page 11, lines 13 and 14) with “must not amend a national curriculum statement made under section 90 unless”.

Explanatory note

This Amendment Paper amends the Education and Training (System Reform) Amendment Bill. Any sound education system should not have the Minister being able to make sweeping changes without genuine engagement and consultation with the sector.
