Proposed amendment

Dr Lawrence Xu-Nan, in Committee, to move the following amendment:

Clause 11A

After clause 11A(2) (page 12, line 24), insert:

After section 127(2)(b), insert:

(ba)

to ensure the development of local curriculum that reflects local tikanga Māori, mātauranga Māori, and te ao Māori:

Explanatory note

This Amendment Paper amends the Education and Training (System Reform) Amendment Bill. Local curriculum is vital to a student’s development and learning. It gives students a chance to tangibly relate to what they are learning in a school environment.
