Commencement of amendments relating to alcohol interlock sentences

(1)

Subpart 1 of Part 1 and sections 96(2) and 97(1) and (4) come into force—

(a)

on 1 April 2018 1 July 2018; or

(b)

on an earlier date appointed by the Governor-General by Order in Council, and 1 or more orders may be made appointing different dates for different provisions and for different purposes.

Commencement of amendments relating to small passenger vehicles

(2)

Subpart 5 of Part 1 and sections 96(3) and 97(3) and (8) come into force—

(a)

on a date appointed by the Governor-General by Order in Council, and 1 or more orders may be made appointing different dates for different provisions and for different purposes; and

(b)

to the extent not previously brought into force under paragraph (a), on 1 July 2017 1 October 2017.

Commencement of the rest of this Act

(3)

The rest of this Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent.
