This Act comes into force on the day after the date of Royal assent.

This Act comes into force as follows:
section 147 (which contains regulation-making powers) comes into force on the day after the date of Royal assent:
the following provisions come into force on the third anniversary of the date of Royal assent:
section 12(2A) (which enables a parent notifying the birth of a child to specify whether they wish to appear as mother, father, or parent on the birth certificate):
section 33 (which requires a medical practitioner or nurse practitioner to provide a preliminary notice of death to the Registrar-General):
section 100(2)(b)(ia) (which requires the Registrar-General to include, in the access register kept under that section, information about a person requesting access to information on behalf of another person):
the rest of this Act comes into force—
on a date set by Order in Council; or
to the extent not brought into force earlier, 18 months after Royal assent.
