Wildlife (Cape Barren Goose) Order 1973

PURSUANT to the Wildlife Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

1 Title and commencement
  • (1) This order may be cited as the Wildlife (Cape Barren Goose) Order 1973.

    (2) This order shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.

2 Application
  • This order shall have effect throughout New Zealand.

3 Wildlife not protected
  • It is hereby declared that the Cape Barren Goose (Cereopsis novaehollandiae) shall be included in Schedule 5 to the Wildlife Act 1953, as wildlife not protected, and that Schedule shall be read accordingly.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

The effect of this order is to make the Cape Barren Goose (Cereopsis novaehollandiae) an unprotected species of wildlife throughout New Zealand.
