Pursuant to section 8(1)(a) of the Wildlife Act 1953, Her Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following order.

Order

1 Title
  • This order is the Wildlife (Rainbow Lorikeet) Order 2001.

2 Commencement
  • This order comes into force on 1 October 2001.

3 Unprotected wildlife
  • Schedule 5 of the Wildlife Act 1953 is amended by inserting, after the item Pigeon—Rock pigeon (Columbia livia), the item Rainbow lorikeet (Trichoglossus haematodus).
