Fisheries (Challenger Area Amateur Fishing) Amendment Regulations 2002

These regulations are administered in the Ministry for Primary Industries.

Pursuant to section 297 of the Fisheries Act 1996, Her Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.

1 Title
2 Commencement

  • These regulations come into force on 11 July 2002.

3 Offences and penalties

  • Regulation 5(1) of the principal regulations is amended by inserting, after the expression “3A(1A),”, the expression “(2)(a) and (b),”.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on 11 July 2002, amend the Fisheries (Challenger Area Amateur Fishing) Regulations 1986 to provide that contravention of regulation 3A(2)(a) and (b) (which relate to the minimum size of scallops) is an offence under regulation 5(1) of those regulations.
