Passport (Fees) Amendment Regulations 2003: revoked, on 30 November 2015, pursuant to regulation 9 of the Passport (Fees) Regulations 2015 (LI 2015/264).

These regulations are administered by the Department of Internal Affairs.
Pursuant to section 40 of the Passports Act 1992, Her Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.

These regulations are the Passport (Fees) Amendment Regulations 2003.

In these regulations, the Passport (Fees) Regulations 19961 are called “the principal regulations”.

These regulations come into force on 1 September 2003.
Regulation 3(3) of the principal regulations is amended by omitting from paragraphs (a), (e), and (g) the words “who is not a New Zealand citizen ordinarily resident”, and substituting in each case the words “who is a New Zealand citizen not ordinarily resident”.

Regulation 9 of the principal regulations is amended by adding the words “(where applicable)”.

The principal regulations are amended by revoking the Schedule, and substituting the Schedule set out in the Schedule of these regulations.

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.
These regulations, which come into force on 1 September 2003, amend the fees payable for various passport services under the Passport (Fees) Regulations 1996. The fees for the issue of a passport are reduced. Some callout fees are increased, and 1 callout fee and the fee for the issue or extension of a certificate of identity are reduced. The fee for renewal of a passport under section 6(2) of the Act is removed.
Regulation 3 amends regulation 3(3) of the principal regulations to make it clear that, in the case of references in that provision to persons who are not New Zealand citizens ordinarily resident in the relevant Pacific Island, the word “not” is intended to relate to a person’s residence status, and not to his or her citizenship.
