6 Processing applications for practising certificates

(1)

On receipt of an application for a practising certificate, the Law Society must consider whether there are any grounds under section 39(3) or (4) or section 41 of the Act for declining or refusing to issue the practising certificate.

(2)

For that purpose, the Law Society may—

(a)

request further information from the applicant; and

(b)

make whatever inquiries the Law Society considers are relevant in determining whether there are any grounds for declining or refusing to issue the practising certificate.
