Pursuant to section 20 of the Fisheries Act 1996, the Minister of Fisheries, after having regard to the matters specified in section 21 of that Act, gives the following notice.

Notice

1 Title
  • This notice is the Fisheries (Southern Blue Whiting Total Allowable Commercial Catch) Notice 2009.

2 Commencement
  • This notice comes into force on 31 March 2009.

3 Application
  • This notice applies on and from the fishing year commencing on 1 April 2009.

4 Interpretation
  • In this notice, unless the context otherwise requires,—

    • (a) the quota management area referred to by reference number in the Schedule is the quota management area described in Part 3 of Schedule 1 of the Fisheries Act 1996:

    • (b) the fishstock code referred to in the Schedule has the same meaning as in Schedule 3 of the Fisheries (Reporting) Regulations 2001.

5 Total allowable commercial catch
  • The total allowable commercial catch for the quota management area in respect of the species specified in the Schedule is that stated in the fourth column of the Schedule against the relevant quota management area.
