Changes authorised by subpart 2 of Part 2 of the Legislation Act 2012 have been made in this official reprint.

Note 4 at the end of this reprint provides a list of the amendments incorporated.

These regulations are administered by the Ministry for Primary Industries.

Pursuant to section 297 of the Fisheries Act 1996, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.


1 Title

These regulations are the Fisheries (Reporting) Amendment Regulations 2009.

2 Commencement

These regulations come into force on 1 June 2009.

3 Principal regulations amended

These regulations amend the Fisheries (Reporting) Regulations 2001.

4 Interpretation


Paragraph (b)(iii) of the definition of landing in regulation 3(1) is amended by omitting “receptacle” and substituting “receptacle; and”.


The following definition of species in regulation 3(1) is revoked: species means the species set out in Part 2 of Schedule 3”.


Regulation 3(3) is amended by omitting “1986” and substituting “2001”.

5 Licensed fish receiver must be audited and provide annual audit reports

Regulation 20(1B) is amended by omitting “to provides” and substituting “to provide”.

6 Schedule 3 amended


Part 2 of Schedule 3 is amended by inserting the items set out in the Schedule of these regulations in their appropriate alphabetical order.


Part 2 of Schedule 3 is amended by omitting the item relating to Catfish (freshwater).

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on 1 June 2009, amend the Fisheries (Reporting) Regulations 2001 as follows:

  • regulations 3 and 20(1B) are amended to correct errors:

  • Part 2 of Schedule 3 is amended to add further species codes and to omit the reference to Catfish (freshwater).
