This order, which comes into force on 1 July 2011, decreases from 8.4% to 5.0% the maximum rate of interest that the High Court, the Court of Appeal, or the Supreme Court can, under section 87(1) or (2) of the Judicature Act 1908, include in the sum for which judgment is given in proceedings for the recovery of a debt or damages.
