Pursuant to section 4A of the Minimum Wage Act 1983, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following order.

1 Title
  • This order is the Minimum Wage Order (No 2) Amendment Order 2013.

2 Commencement
  • This order comes into force on 15 July 2013.

3 Principal order
4 Clause 3 amended (Interpretation)
  • (1) In clause 3(1), definition of specified social security benefit, after paragraph (d), insert:

    • (da) jobseeker support:.

    (2) In clause 3(1), definition of specified social security benefit, after paragraph (e), insert:

    • (ea) sole parent support:

    • (eb) supported living payment:.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order, which comes into force on 15 July 2013, amends the Minimum Wage Order (No 2) 2013 (the principal order).

The effect of the amendments is that the jobseeker support benefit, sole parent support benefit, and supported living payment are specified social security benefits that can be used as factors for paying a minimum starting-out wage rate to a worker as defined in paragraph (b) of the definition of starting-out worker in clause 3(1) of the principal order.
