Pursuant to section 100L of the Biosecurity Act 1993, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council and on the recommendation of the Minister for Primary Industries, makes the following order.

Order

1 Title

This order is the Biosecurity (Bovine Tuberculosis—Otago Land Levy) Amendment Order 2013.

2 Commencement

This order comes into force on 1 July 2013.

Order: confirmed, on 18 December 2013, by section 7(c) of the Subordinate Legislation (Confirmation and Validation) Act 2013 (2013 No 142).

3 Principal order

This order amends the Biosecurity (Bovine Tuberculosis—Otago Land Levy) Order 1998 (the principal order).

4 Clause 2 amended (Interpretation)

(1)

In clause 2, revoke the definition of Board.

(2)

In clause 2, insert in its appropriate alphabetical order:

TBfree New Zealand means TBfree New Zealand Limited

5 Clause 3 amended (Levy imposed)

In clause 3, replace “the Board” with “TBfree New Zealand”.

6 Clause 6 amended (Levy payable to Board)

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order, which comes into force on 1 July 2013, amends the Biosecurity (Bovine Tuberculosis—Otago Land Levy) Order 1998. References to the Animal Health Board (Incorporated) are replaced by references to TBfree New Zealand Limited, which is the new management agency for the purposes of the Biosecurity (National Bovine Tuberculosis Pest Management Plan) Order 1998.

Under section 100S of the Biosecurity Act 1993, this order will be deemed to be revoked at the close of 30 June 2014 unless it is confirmed by an Act of Parliament passed on or before that date.
