Pursuant to section 146 of the Care of Children Act 2004, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following rules.

These rules are the Care of Children (International Child Abduction) (Forms) Amendment Rules 2013.
These rules come into force on 19 August 2013.
These rules amend the Care of Children (International Child Abduction) (Forms) Rules 2005 (the principal rules).
(1) In the Schedule, form 1, replace paragraph 1 with the paragraph set out in Schedule 1.
(2) In the Schedule, form 2, replace paragraph 1 with the paragraph set out in Schedule 2.

This note is not part of the rules, but is intended to indicate their general effect.
These rules, which come into force on 19 August 2013, update the forms set out in the Care of Children (International Child Abduction) (Forms) Rules 2005. The updating is necessary to ensure that the language used in the forms reflects the fact that, when the Marriage (Definition of Marriage) Amendment Act 2013 comes into force, same-sex marriages will be possible. As a consequence, the parents referred to in these forms will not necessarily be a mother and a father.
