Explanatory note

This note is not part of the notice, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This notice, which comes into force on 8 May 2014 and replaces the Land Transport (Blood Test Fee) Notice 2010, prescribes fees for 2 types of blood test carried out under the Land Transport Act 1998. The new alcohol blood test fee reflects increased testing costs. The new qualifying drugs blood test fee arises from use of a single process to test simultaneously for different drugs. Formerly, multiple tests (each with different prescribed fees) may have had to be used to determine whether different qualifying drugs were present in a blood specimen.

Issued under the authority of the Legislation Act 2012.

Date of notification in Gazette: 10 April 2014.
